Gangs of Melbourne

Gang Crisis

In a special report for Channel 7 News about African gang violence in Melbourne, I quoted a magistrate saying: “People are scared to travel on our trains.” And I concluded the report by saying: “It has to stop”.That was not last week. Not even last year. It was more than five years ago, in October, 2012. Somebody dug it up again on Twitter this week. It is sadly, spookily, prescient. So, don’t let anybody con you by brushing this off as something new. Politicians – and former Police Chief Commissioners like Nixon and Overland – have let Victorians down. Badly. DH
